It’s easy to Uber or Lyft in Miami, although its better to rent a car to get around the city. Public transportation is ok, there are bus stations a block from the Miami Pool Cottage but be prepared to spend a lot of your time waiting for and using the busses.
El Portal is a walkable quiet neighborhood - excellent for walks or runs through the beautiful treelined streets.

GUEST SERVICE AGREEMENT:
Our Guest Services Agreement is automatically sent after booking for your signature and includes additional details about your stay, in addition, we verify your ID and require a damage waiver, before bookings are accepted. If you select the firm refundable cancelation policy, we allow a 48-hour free cancellation policy for your review of our rental agreement after booking unless you booked the reservation less than 2 weeks prior. Please ensure that you do not select the non-refundable cancelation option, since it does not allow a 48-hour cancellation.
PRIMARY GUEST
The primary or main guest must be at least 25 years of age to rent the Miami Pool Cottage and no one will be given the access code to the property who is under 21.
GROUP EVENTS & FAMILY GATHERINGS
Celebrations, family gatherings, and bridal groups are welcome as long as the maximum occupancy (6 guests maximum) and parking (2 cars) are not exceeded, no parties, or disruptions to neighbors and nearby residents. We want you to enjoy your stay and celebrate your milestones and at the same time respect the property, neighbors, and residents. Please - no glitter, no confetti and don't use tape to hang up decorations.
HOSTING GROUPS AND FAMILY GATHERINGS
We allow guests to host celebrations and family gatherings. PRIOR APPROVAL IS REQUIRED and an additional fee may be charged. You must provide details about the celebration or family event within 48 hours of making the reservation. Only 6 guests are allowed on the property. NO PARTIES.
In the event a rental has been secured in violation of these restrictions, we reserve the right to terminate the rental, effective immediately, and to remove the group from the property, without a refund of payment.
DAMAGE INSURANCE WAIVER
To truly enjoy your stay, most people don’t want to worry about the occasional drink spill or scuff on the wall, so IN LIEU OF A SECURITY DEPOSIT, Miami Vacation Stays offers a non-refundable damage waiver fee that excuses you for accidental damages to the home, which covers up to a maximum limit of $500.- per stay (all accidental damages should be reported immediately). This fee is in addition to the booking fee. Upon receipt of the damage waiver fee, the owner will release the guest from liability for accidental damages up to $500.- MORE DETAILS OF WHAT’S NOT COVERED IN OUR RENTAL AGREEMENT.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS:
Your hosts, Pascal and Jacomina, will greet you at the Miami Pool Cottage and give you a tour of the property to explain some of the amenities and features. You will be able to contact your hosts during your stay, through the website you booked through, direct text message, and/or phone call. We live on the property and are here to make you experience your stay and itinerary as stress-free and easily as possible.
CHECK-OUT INSTRUCTIONS
- Place your dirty dishes in the dishwasher and start before leaving
- Leave used beds unmade. Our cleaners will gather and sort bed linens.
- Please let us know if anything was accidentally damaged, so we can file a damage claim. This policy is required as part of your booking because we understand things do happen.

- weather events which impact your ability to stay at our location,
that result in another covered event happening,
- like a government travel restriction or
- large-scale outage of essential utilities
we will allow you to cancel your trip, even mid-stay, and refund any unused nights. It will also allow us to cancel your reservation with a full refund.
In other words, our Major Disruptive Event policy is in effect only if there is a major event (like a hurricane) that results in a mandatory evacuation or large-scale use of an essential utility.

According to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation Division of Hotels and Restaurants, we are giving our guests this notification of exception to sanitation requirements.
Notice to Guests: Dishware, glassware, kitchenware, and/or utensils have been provided in this room for guests' convenience. These items have been cleaned within this room or unit using ordinary household dishwashing facilities and agents. They have not been sanitized according to Federal and State standards for public food service establishments.
PEST CONTROL:
Our home receives regular pest control to keep the yard and home as pest-free as possible...BUT ALAS, this is Florida. Bugs and critters thrive here. Please understand the possibility of seeing them in or around the home as they like to sneak in on all sorts of things. Refunds are not given for the occasional bug sighting and reports should be made immediately so that we can determine if an emergency call to the pest company is needed. You can also help us by leaving doors closed whenever possible to prevent them from sneaking in.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY:
Local building code caps the maximum occupancy at 6 people. If you break this ordinance you will be charged $500.00, and we will cancel your reservation without a refund.

You and your Service Animal will be asked to leave if we discover misrepresentation of a pet as a Service Animal. We will report fraudulent claims of Service Animals to government authorities and will remove the guest(s) without further notice in such cases. If this occurs, there will be no right to a refund.
Your Service Dog may not be left unattended. (Crating and leaving the animal in your absence is not permitted; the animal must accompany you AT ALL TIMES).
Your Service Animal must be on a leash at all times, or under control of verbal or sight commands that they follow at all times.
We will ask you to remove your Service Animal if the animal is out of control and the animal’s handler does not take effective action to control it or if the animal is not housebroken.
Please walk your Service Animal for bathroom needs. Indoor piddle pads are not allowed.

Your Service Dog may not be left unattended. (Crating and leaving the animal in your absence is not permitted; the animal must accompany you AT ALL TIMES).
Your Service Animal must be on a leash at all times, or under control of verbal or sight commands that they follow at all times.
We will ask you to remove your Service Animal if the animal is out of control and the animal’s handler does not take effective action to control it or if the animal is not housebroken.
Please walk your Service Animal for bathroom needs. Indoor piddle pads are not allowed.
Please clean up defecation immediately. Bring your own baggies and dispose in the trash can at the front of the house.
Service Animals may not be on furniture (sofa, chairs, bed)or counters unless it is specifically needed for your disability. If required, please report so that we can arrange additional cleaning.

Our Guest Services Agreement is automatically sent after booking for your signature and includes additional details about your stay, in addition, we verify your ID and require a damage waiver, before bookings are accepted.
PRIMARY GUEST
The primary or main guest must be at least 25 years of age to rent the Miami Pool Cottage and no one will be given the access code to the property who is under 21.
GROUP EVENTS & FAMILY GATHERINGS
Celebrations, family gatherings, and bridal groups are welcome as long as the maximum occupancy (6 guests maximum) and parking (2 cars) are not exceeded, no parties, or disruptions to neighbors and nearby residents. We want you to enjoy your stay and celebrate your milestones and at the same time respect the property, neighbors, and residents.
HOSTING GROUPS AND FAMILY GATHERINGS
We allow guests to host celebrations and family gatherings. PRIOR APPROVAL IS REQUIRED and an additional fee may be charged. You must provide details about the celebration or family event within 48 hours of making the reservation. Only 6 guests are allowed on the property. NO PARTIES.
In the event a rental has been secured in violation of these restrictions, we reserve the right to terminate the rental, effective immediately, and to remove the group from the property, without a refund of payment.
DAMAGE INSURANCE WAIVER
To truly enjoy your stay, most people don’t want to worry about the occasional drink spill or scuff on the wall, so IN LIEU OF A SECURITY DEPOSIT, Miami Vacation Stays offers a non-refundable damage waiver fee that excuses you for accidental damages to the home, which covers up to a maximum limit of $500.- per stay (all accidental damages should be reported immediately). This fee is in addition to the booking fee. Upon receipt of the damage waiver fee, the owner will release the guest from liability for accidental damages up to $500.- MORE DETAILS OF WHAT’S NOT COVERED IN OUR RENTAL AGREEMENT.
