Welcome to Casa del Toro - a spa-like retreat with great views of mountains & town, swimming pool, modern amenities, and a short walk to the center plaza! The house offers a large kitchen/dining room which opens to the pool & garden courtyard area, with plenty of seating both indoors and out. Eight guests can sleep comfortably in the four bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. The upstairs master bedroom boasts a private balcony and soaking tub as well. You will find top quality linens & towels throughout, as well as separate towels for the pool area. There is a cozy den with fireplace and working desk, a family/game room with large tv, & a rooftop terrace with built-in fire pit & exquisite mountain sunset views. WiFi is conveniently located throughout the house, and all faucets safe to drink with filtered water. The house is done in a subtle natural palate of whites, grays and taupes, featuring locally made furniture and accessories, as well as accents from India, Morocco, etc. It is a welcome respite after a day of sight seeing in the colorful city of San Miguel!

Getting around

You can walk just about anywhere in San Miguel from the house, although there are a lot of hills in certain directions. The taxis are always around town and cost about 60-100 pesos for any ride in and around centro. If you want to venture further out of town, you can arrange for that trip with a taxi and negotiate a price with them directly, or we have recommendations for private car services.

Policies and Rules

Check In: 3PM - Flexible

The house manager will meet all arrivals and make sure guests have the keys they need and know the lay of the house. We are happy to accommodate late check-outs and early check-ins if we do not have other guests arriving/ leaving the same day. The house manager will also manage all check-outs, and review gas usage and any corresponding charges with guests before they leave.

House Rules

• Pool heater & fire pit gas usage: Guests are welcome to heat the pool to their desired temperature and/or use the gas fire pit on the upper patio; however, the guests agree to pay for such gas usage. We have a digital meter for such usage and our house manager will present the guests with a bill for the usage prior to departure. We ask you to please pay cash if you choose to use the pool heater and/or fire pit. • Additional guests are not generally allowed. Failure to notify us in advance of additional guests will result in forfeit of security deposit. • Late checkout: Please checkout promptly as we have a very short time window to prepare the house for new guests. $100 per hour will be charged for late checkouts after a grace period of 30 minutes. • Lost Items: Lost keys will incur a fee of $30 per set; lost garage door opener will incur a few of $70 per opener. • Clean up: We ask all guests to leave the home in a reasonably clean manner; we ask that you leave dirty towels on the floor or in the hamper, all dishes in the kitchen by the sink, and all trash in waste containers. • Renters shall advise our house manager of any necessary repairs or maintenance during their stay and agree to allow reasonable access to the property should repairs or maintenance be necessary during their stay. • All additionally incurred fees will be deducted from the security deposit. Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking (if check-in date is at least 14 days away) or 45 days before check-in date.

Notes

The housekeeper is there three days per week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. She will clean, do laundry, and is happy to help with cooking if you desire. If you would like more cleaning, cooking, private chef, or anything else, arrangements can be made for an additional fee.
