We want to welcome you to our Kihei Garden Oasis, a tropical garden paradise in sunny Kihei, Maui. Just pack your swim suite and leave the rest to us. Staying in a house with relaxing outdoor spaces is truly one of the best ways to share memories with family and friends. This is such a unique property that you will love.
Why rent a private house? We think our house is a fantastic option instead of staying at a condo complex. You never have to share the hot tub or wait for the BBQ nor is there a closing time for the hot tub. Parking is so convenient in the garage or in the driveway, you never have to compete with other guests. When you have your large suitcases, grocery purchases, beach gear and coolers, your car is just out the front door instead of meandering through a large complex with your heavy items. Staying in a house with family and friends vacationing together makes coordination, hanging out, sharing meals, and spending quality time together so wonderful, but with enough space to enjoy your down time too. Because we do have the space and a garage, we offer more amenities to supplement your vacation than any condo or vacation rental.

The ancient Hawaiians traveled to Kihei for their Royal Retreats. There are six miles of beach along Kiheis coastline, including the popular Kamaole beaches.
Our private house is located in a neighborhood in the heart of South Kihei, the sunniest part of Maui near the famous Kama’ole white sand beaches. Just a 10-minute walk to many things:
* Kalama Beach Park (playground, tennis, volleyball, basketball, skate park, skating rink, beautiful sunsets, and more)
* Over 23 restaurants, coffee shops, and bars
* Shops, boutiques, open air markets
* Saturday Farmers market and grocery store
* The Cove Beach Park (paddle boarding and beginner surfing)
We love our morning and evening walks for coffee, breakfast, waterfront strolling, paddleboarding, happy hour, dinner, evening cocktails, and sunsets.

* Kamaole Beach Park 1, 2, 3 (Kam 1 is a 20-min walk) – the best swimming beaches
There are several beaches very close to the house depending on what you are interested in. When we go to the beach with our gear, we always drive. There is plenty of parking in front of the beaches and we have coolers, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, boogie boards, snorkel equipment, towels.
Here are all the distances to give you a better idea of our local beaches.
* Kalama Beach Park (0.5 mile, 5 min walk to beginning of the park) - retaining wall to the ocean and beach, small beach usually used by paddleboarders and surfers. Fantastic walk along the waterfront and where everyone gathers for sunset. The park is amazing with playground, tennis, volleyball, basketball, roller-skating rink and more
* Cove Park (0.7 miles, 10 min walk, 1 minute drive) - great for paddle boarding, wading in the water, beginner surf lessons leave from this beach
All the Kamaole beaches are considered some of the best beaches on Maui. We spend our beach time at Kamaole I.
* Kamaole Beach Park I (1 mile, 20 min walk, 3 min drive)
* Kamaole Beach Park II (1.6 miles, 32 min walk, 5 min drive)
* Kamaole Beach Park III (1.9 miles, 36 min walk, 6 min drive)
Short Drive (15-20 minutes):
* Famous Makena Beach, Wailea and world class golf courses

Stroll in cute little shops while trying some local shave ice. You will love Mauis most unique shopping and dining experience at Kihei Kalama Village with great places to eat and over 40 vendors and boutiques. At the south side of Kalama Beach, you will find Cove Park where you can take surfing lessons or try stand up paddle boarding. Walk beyond Cove Park and you find Charley Young beach which is part of the famous Kamaole beaches.
In the morning, walk to Starbucks, Lava Java Coffee Roasters, or Da Greens and enjoy your coffee at the beach or in a lush tropical setting. During the early evening, you can enjoy Happy Hour at Three’s Bar and Grill or one of the other many places within a 10-minute walk of the house or enjoy the gorgeous sunsets at the beach.

We purchased this property in 2013 because we always enjoy the aloha spirit of the islands and love to go paddle boarding, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Dave dabbles with the guitar and ukulele and loves all of the music that is so prevalent in Hawaii. Jenni spent some of her happiest years as a child living in Hawaii and we both feel connected to the island. We currently live in Seattle, and like you, plan our vacation getaways to Maui with our family and friends. We welcome you, your family and friends to our vacation paradise.

We care a lot about maintaining good relationships with our community, so we appreciate you following our "house policies" during your stay. We are committed to Rent Responsibly standards. This means we follow best-in-class guidelines to ensure you have a peaceful, safe and memorable stay with us. We use smart home technology to improve your experience. NoiseAware is a smart home device that measures volume levels throughout the property and allows us to respond to noise nuisances without disrupting your stay. NoiseAware is 100% privacy compliant and is required on this property. We also have 1 Nest webcam that points towards the driveway which is only there as a safety measure which is rarely reviewed. If you have any questions, please ask.
County Enforced House Policies:
NOISE: Quiet hours are from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., during which time the noise from the short-term rental home shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors. Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with a residential area. Amplified sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries of the short-term rental home is prohibited. Please be considerate, realizing that others live in the neighborhood.
OCCUPANCY: All Guests visiting Property must be registered on the Agreement. Guest agrees that no more than 8 persons shall be permitted on the Property at any time during the Rental Term, all of whom shall comply with the conditions and restrictions imposed upon Guest under this Agreement.
SPECIAL EVENTS, PARTIES: Guest shall not host special events, parties, or gatherings at the property. This can cause us to lose our vacation rental permit with the county.
SCOOTERS, NO DRONES: Scooters which generate excess noise in the neighborhood are not allowed. Please do enjoy what the island has to offer, but we ask that you do not bring noisy scooters into the neighborhood or to the house (mopeds and Vespa style that are quiet are fine). Drones are not allowed on the property and on most of Maui.
ILLEGAL ACTIVITY: Illegal activity, illicit drug use, or fireworks are not allowed on or near the Property.
PARKING: Per the County permit requirements, vehicles shall be parked in the designated onsite parking area (in the driveway or in the garage) and shall not be parked on the street or on the grass.
In consideration of our friends and neighbors, Guest agrees to abide by the local noise ordinance and all county and state policies. If a complaint is received, Rental Agent will notify Guest immediately. Violations, such as noise violations, to the point of causing unresolved complaints from neighbors or law enforcement involvement will be considered causing damage to the property and the vacation rental permit. Guest will be asked to leave immediately. If permit is impacted, for example revoked, due to Guest actions, Guest agree to pay state and county fines, loss of rental income, and legal bills associated with defending the vacation rental permit with the state and or county.
