Welcome to The Melrose, at Silver Strand Beach. Enjoy beach living at its finest! Our beautifully curated home, offers four floors of spacious living space. The first floor offers one bedroom with a Queen size bed and twin bunk beds, as well as one full en-suite bathroom. The second floor offers a bright spacious living room and kitchen with an open concept, perfect for entertaining. There is also a bedroom with a king size bed and a full en-suite bathroom offered on this floor. The third floor offers a bedroom with a king size bed, gas fireplace and a spacious ensuite full bathroom with a separate shower and jetted tub! The fourth floor offers a large roof top deck with stunning views of the harbor and mountains. Enjoy a meal at the dining table for 6, cook on the gas grill, and get comfy with plenty of seating for the whole group to enjoy the sunset!

I am a wife and mom of four very active kiddos. I also work part time as a licensed clinical social worker, practicing psychotherapy. Our family loves to travel to different places. We enjoy the outdoors and especially love the mountains and the ocean! We enjoy hiking, biking, dirt bike riding, surfing, and skiing. Our family has been a part of the airbnb community as guests, for several years. We are always responsible and respectful of the homes in which we stay.
I am also an Airbnb host for our family cabin located in Big Bear Lake, Ca. House Rules
Max occupancy at all times is 8 guests, including children and visitors, unless otherwise approved by owner. You will be evicted without refund if occupancy laws are violated.
Vehicle Max is 2 at all times. Please note, there is no street parking allowed on our street. There is a private parking lot located at Kiddie Beach, which you are welcome to use. It is approximately a 5 min walk from our home.
Welcome to The Melrose, at Silver Strand Beach! We really want you to enjoy your stay. We also want to make sure our home is a good fit for you. Before you consider our home please take a moment to read through our house manual and rules. Once your reservation is confirmed-you agree to the rules outlined in our house manual/rules. You will also be required to sign a rental agreement, provide a photo ID and pay a refundable security deposit to ensure all rules are followed during your stay.
-Renter MUST be at least 25 years of age to to rent this property. Renter MUST be present at the property upon check in, and remain on the property throughout the entire reservation- no exceptions. Guests other than the one who reserved the stay will not be given access. We do collect a $500 security deposit to be collected prior to check in, via the Airbnb platform. This will be refunded within 24 hours of check out.
-We have a MAX occupancy of 8 total guests at all times including visitors (including infants and children). your reservation was accepted based on the occupancy you provided. Additional guests and/or visitors other than the ones indicated when your reservation was made- are not permitted on the property (including children/infants), unless otherwise approved by the owner. There is a fee of $100 per person, per night for any additional people on the property, at any time without approval from the owner. We reserve the right to evict your group without refund for over occupancy, as this results in breach of the rental agreement contract.
Please note: Our property is equipped with outdoor cameras to verify occupancy. Cameras are located at the front entrance and back door and pointed away from the interior of the home. We also have great relationships with our neighbors and they will notify us if your group exceeds the max occupancy. Our property manager, code enforcement and the sheriff will be contacted and your group will be evicted without refund from the property immediately if occupancy laws are violated. We take occupancy very seriously and there will be no exceptions.
-We are a dog friendly property with a fenced backyard. PLEASE be a responsible pet owner. Please DO NOT leave pets unattended on the property. Please clean up all dog waste. We also ask that you keep dogs off of the furniture.
-Please note, as indicated this is a dog friendly home. Although our house cleaners work extremely hard to provide our guests with a 5 star experience, it is impossible to guarantee the home is completely free of pet hair. Please be mindful of this If you are sensitive to pet hair, as we do not refund for pet hair.
-No smoking anywhere on our property. Our commercial insurance does not allow smoking of any kind on the property. There is an $500.00 fee for carpet cleaning/air purification and fire liability if smoking of any kind is detected inside or outside the property. Please use the fire places responsibly. Gas fireplace only-no wood burning. No outside fires-except in the propane BBQ.
-Please be respectful of our home, and leave it the way it was upon your arrival. Return things to their proper place. This includes, kitchen items, baby gear, fans, board games, puzzles, toys. Please do not move any furniture. Renter will be held liable for any damage the home incurs during their stay. If you happen to notice something broken, damaged, dirty or out of place upon your arrival this MUST be communicated to owner immediately. No jumping on the beds-they will break and you will be held financially responsible. Please watch your children-although we want them and you to enjoy yourselves- they need to be supervised at all times to prevent accidents to themselves and our home.
-Please be advised there will be a minimum $50 deduction of your deposit for missing, damaged, stained, excessively dirty or rearranged items if you do not communicate with the owners about the situation prior to your check out.
-Please respect our neighbors. No amplified music beyond the property line at any time. If ONE complaint is received from neighbors, the city or the police- I will ask you to comply with the rules. If a second complaint is received you will be evicted without refund.
CHECK OUT INSTRUCTIONS:
-Check out time is 11:00 am, unless you prearrange with the owner and pay the late check out fee.
-Please wash all dirty dishes and/or load/start the dishwasher.
-Please be sure to take all food with you.
-Please place all used beach towels in the 1st floor hallway near the garage entrance. Please ensure all beach gear is returned to the garage.
-Please place all trash/recycling in the garbage bins on the driveway. If you check out on Sunday-please pull the bins to the street.
