The Tiny Red Barn is a labor of love built by us for you on the Diascund Reservoir with water views, wooded trails and sunsets. We feel like were on vacation every day of the year and look forward to sharing our 26 acres with you. Heavily wooded land with rolling trails, birds, deer, squirrels, turtles, chickens and bees. A large amount of our property sits on the Diascund Reservoir which provides a whole other side of nature.
Blue herons, bald eagles, great fishing, kayaking, canoeing all just steps away. If you are looking for a true get away, youve found it. The Tiny Red Barn is approximately 1000 square feet, sleeps 6, built 2021, with full kitchen, sleeping loft, and a natural setting overlooking the reservoir. The screened in porch provides a bit of bug free enjoyment as you relax and take in the sights and sounds.

IMPORTANT NOTE

The Diascund Reservoir is a 1200 acre man made water supply for the city of Newport News. Rainfall determines the levels. As of June 2024, the water level is at 100%. Navigation is good.
We will update this information when any significant changes occur.

Our location is also near several New Kent Wineries; Saude Creek Vineyards (3.5 miles) Gautier Vineyards (3.7 miles) New Kent Winery (11 miles). In addition we are 2 hours from Washington DC, 35 minutes from Richmond, the state capital. 35-45 minutes from Historic Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown Battlefield, Busch Gardens and Water Country.

Check In: 4PM - Flexible

The Tiny Red Barn will be ready by 4:00 pm for guest checkin however, guest will be notified as soon as the home is ready in case an earlier check in is desired. Door code and details are included in the digital guidebook which is delivered via text 1 week prior to arrival.

We look forward to hosting your visit to our family friendly Tiny Red Barn. Setting forth expectations makes things run more smoothly. We want you to feel at home while staying in The Tiny Red Barn. Make yourselves comfortable and please treat the property as you would your own home. The Short Term Rental Agreement will be forwarded via Docusign after booking. Booking guest will be required to review, sign, and return. View Sample below.

Payment Policy

Full or 1/2 payment due at booking. Square is the payment processor. Credit/debit cards are not kept on file. A payment reminder will be sent 3 weeks prior to arrival. Guest will need to re-enter card info for balance processing.

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION POLICY Travelers who cancel at least 14 days before check-in will get back 100% of the amount paid. If cancelling between 7 and 14 days before check-in, travelers will get back 50%. Otherwise, no refund will be given.
