Welcome to the Seahorse Suite at Tranquility.
Located approximately halfway between Ocean Ave. in Melbourne Beach and Sebastian Inlet, (~4 miles south of the Melbourne Beach Publix), the Tranquility Seahorse Suite is a completely remodeled and beautifully decorated one-bedroom apartment.
Just steps from a secluded private beach, you will quickly realize why we call this property Tranquility. Stay with us once, and we are sure you will want to return.
THE SPACE
The Seahorse Suite is one of four 625 sqft one-bedroom apartments at Tranquility. The property is located on the east side of A1A, just a short walk through the grass and over our private wooden crossover to our secluded beach on the Atlantic Ocean.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Melbourne Beach is a quiet beach town with a small town feel. After visiting just once, I knew this is where I wanted to live and I relocated here in 2003.
Tranquility is located in the heart of the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge. This 20-mile stretch of beach provides the nesting habitat for approximately 25% of all sea turtles in the United States, with ~20,000 nest being laid here annually. This area is the #1 nesting site in the world for Loggerhead Sea Turtles. Thousands of Greens and a much smaller number of Leatherbacks and the occasional Hawksbill nest here as well.
A sea turtle turtle and track identification card can be found in the unit.
Once you arrive at Tranquility, you will feel like you are staying on a private beach and may not want to leave. Here are some distances to local places of interest:

This unit is ideal for 2 guests, but a third can be accommodated with an inflatable queen-sized air mattress for an additional $25 per night.
CHILDREN
This property is NOT childproof by any means. We do not feel that is is suitable for young children who could hurt themselves or break things, but we will leave this decision to our guests discretion. Older children will be fine.
PETS
This unit is dog friendly for a maximum of two dogs, on a case by case basis. We charge an $80 Pet Fee and also require an additional $500 security deposit to cover any potential damage. This deposit will be returned in full after confirming there is no damage to the unit after you checkout.
If you would like to bring a pet, please message us the breed and size of your dog, and confirm that you will never leave your dog unattended. Whenever you leave the house, your dog needs to leave with you.
This should go without saying, but please clean up after your dog. We have a Dog Waste Station conveniently located in the grassy area on the west side of the building.
LAUNDRY
In addition to this private one bedroom apartment, guests will have access to a shared laundry room. There are two washers and dryers available for guest use, and everything you need to do laundry is provided.
TV
Hulu + Live TV (for more than 65 live TV channels including local networks) is provided and will give you access to thousands of free movies and shows. You are also welcome to log in to any streaming services that you subscribe to (Netflix, Disney+, YouTubeTV and so on).
BBQ GRILLS
You are welcome to use our outdoor charcoal grills, but please note that housekeeping does not maintain these. Instead, we ask each guest to clean the grill for the next guest after each use.

House Rules
PET FEE: $80 per dog, including Emotional Support Animals. There is no charge for a Service Animal required due to a disability. No cats or other animals are allowed, sorry.
*Stays of 21 days or longer will receive additional complimentary cleanings every 14 days or so. We will work with you to arrange a convenient time for our housekeepers to enter the unit.
ADDITIONAL RULES:
-No unauthorized guests: Only those on the reservation are allowed on the property.
-Do not tamper with or obstruct the outdoor security cameras in any way.
-Absolutely no smoking or vaping inside or near the building.
-Do not move any furniture.
-Do not view or download any illegal content via WiFi.
-Please wash all dirtied cookware and start the dishwasher before you leave if necessary.
-Please clean up after your pet. There is a Dog Waste Station conveniently located in the grassy area on the west side of the building.
The above rules are in place for the safety, security, and comfort of our guests and the protection of the property. These should be straight-forward and easy to follow for 99% of guests. For those who choose to break the rules, please be aware of the following:
*Tampering with or obstructing any security camera will result in a $500 fee, and you will be requested to immediately vacate the premises with no refund.
*A fee of $500 will be assessed if there is any evidence of smoking (anything) inside the building.
*A fee of $100 per additional person will be assessed if additional visitors not on the reservation enter the property without prior approval, and you will be requested to immediately vacate the premises with no refund - THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO HAVE PARTY.
*A fee of $100 per animal will be assessed if you bring an unauthorized pet inside the building, and you will be requested to immediately vacate the premises with no refund.
*We do NOT ask guests to do any cleaning beyond the cookware/dishes/silverware they use during their stay. We do NOT ask people to clean, strip beds, wash towels, or take out the trash, but we do expect people to treat our property with respect. If the unit is left overly-dirty, to the point where it takes our housekeepers much longer than usual to clean, resulting in a higher fee charged to us, this fee will be passed on to the guest.
We have almost never had to take any of the above actions for any of our properties and certainly don't ever want to. Please follow our simple rules and don't trash the place, so everyone (you, the other guests in the building, our housekeepers, and your hosts) can have a 5 star experience. :)
LIABILITY
You as the guest shall indemnify and hold harmless the property host against any and all claims of personal injury or personal property damage or loss arising from the use of the premises, regardless of the nature of the accident, injury or loss. Also, expressly recognize that any insurance for property damage or loss which the host may have does not cover your personal property. Payment Policy
When making a reservation, guests are required to provide payment in accordance with the following schedule: For reservation made more than 7 days prior to the check-in date, 50% of the total reservation cost must be paid at the time of booking, with the remaining 50% due 7 days before check-in. For reservations made less than 7 days before check-in, the full reservation cost will be charged at the time of booking.

CANCELLATION POLICY/TRAVEL INSURANCE
We understand that circumstances can change and guests may need to cancel their reservation. To facilitate this process, we have established the following cancellation and refund policy:
Guests who cancel their reservation more than 30 days prior to their scheduled check-in date will receive a full refund of the initial 50% payment made at the time of booking, less approximately 3% of the payment amount to cover non-refundable credit card fees. Guests who cancel their reservation between 7 and 30 days before check-in will not receive a refund of the initial 50% payment, but will not be charged the remaining 50% balance due 7 days before check-in, thereby receiving a 50% refund of the total reservation cost. Cancellations made within 7 days of the check-in date are non-refundable.
We hope that this policy is clear and transparent, and we encourage guests to contact us with any questions or concerns they may have prior to booking. We are running a small business and are not able to make exceptions to this policy to provide larger refunds if you need to cancel your reservation within 30 days of your arrival date for any reason, including due to any weather-related events, Covid-19, family emergencies, etc. It is also our policy to not accept any reservation change requests made within 30 days of your arrival date that involve moving your reservation dates into the future.
We strongly recommend that you obtain Travel Insurance for your trip in case of any unforeseen circumstances that could lead to you needing to cancel your reservation. A simple online search for "travel insurance" will provide you with many options.

In the unlikely event that you do see a bug, we would be happy to send pest control to retreat the property (this is part of the service we pay for), but you will not be eligible for any type of refund because of this.
