We provide some fire starters along with the firewood. You can turn a switch to “on” position at bottom of the fireplace. It brings air to the fireplace to help the wood to burn. Please don’t forget to switch it back to the “off “position to help to put out the fire. Please refer to the House manual for safety instruction of how to use the wood burning stove. Heat: there is central heat and we ask to keep thermostat at 70F during cold weather when you leave the house. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises, except for the front porch. Parties aren’t allowed. Ticks, bugs, and wildlife are part of the nature of Upstate NY. Please don’t forget to keep the doors closed, otherwise you can get some flying visitors (during warm weather).
