A great video on the Gulf to Table movement.
Finding Your Fish - Already Plated
If vacation to you means a vacation from cooking and the only thing you make are reservations, there are some great places to discover. There are some great restaurants in Pensacola Beach, only a short Trolley ride from Tiki House. You can go high end or beach casual! It is up to you!
Favorite high-end restaurants on the beach include the iconic Grand Marlin. A great place for seafood or steaks! They offer a very diverse menu in a very dressy atmosphere. The service is great, the atmosphere is upscale, the view is good. Their menu varies as they locally source their seafood and change by season. It is described on reviews as "pricey but worth it." They are known for their great cocktails and can compete with any restaurant, nation-wide! This is a great place for events as well.

Another Pensacola Beach island favorite that is worth dressing up for is Hemingway's Island Grill. Though not as fancy as the Grand Marlin, it has an equally rated service and quality. The views are great as they also sit on the water. They promise to deliver a taste of the islands, and they do. They offer fresh seafood, steaks, chicken and island inspired jerk dishes as well as more traditional dishes like, Lobster Thermadore and steaks Oscar style. A real foodie is sure to find something on their diverse, island influenced menu.

Vacation for many means no heels, no ties, no suits. Casual dining can be just a rewarding for many on the beach. There are so many beach restaurants that fit this description, but none as well as Paradise Bar & Grill. Located behind the retro Paradise Inn, on the beach (on the Santa Rosa Sound side) it is a swim up, boat up, or walk up restaurant. The sand and picnic tables mean you won't ever feel under dressed! But the food and view are wonderful! They offer fresh seafood, bar snacks and drinks as well as a great place to visit and relax. The sunset views are great and the pier allows for great viewing. Kids are no problem either. It is a great place to bring the whole crew and enjoy some live music or a sunset dinner.

Finding Your Fish Fresh Caught
Visiting Tiki House or any vacation home with a great kitchen and all the necessary tools to make a great meal, is an invitation to many to create their own culinary masterpiece. If you love to cook and love seafood, you are in the right place. The locally sourced seafood you can find to prepare on Pensacola Beach or nearby are the freshest you can get, without catching it yourself.
The famous Joe Patti's Seafood is a great place to start. Located just over the bridges in Pensacola, they have been supplying restaurants and locals for years. You have to go to see what is fresh caught that day, and be open to changing your menu based on what you find. You can also find what you need to complete a meal. And if you want some help, they will steam or boil it for you!

Another market is Navarre Seafood Market. If you find yourself headed east on the beach, and want to check out this lesser-known spot, you might just find what you are looking for. Good prices, and small and local, the market sells what is in season and what is fresh. Not as big as other shops, you get personal service and expert advice.

But you don't have to go to a seafood market to buy fresh seafood. Many groceries have fresh and good priced seafood as well. Check any of the local grocery stores and their seafood departments for great seafood selections as well.
Finding Your Fish in the Gulf
Many people come to vacation at Tiki House and Pensacola Beach looking for an opportunity to enjoy fishing in the Gulf from the beach, from the pier, or from a boat. All these opportunities allow them to enjoy, not just the sport of fishing, but the fruits of their labor with the freshest fish anyone can enjoy.
Depending on the season, you can find many varieties of fish in the area. The following is a good guide to what is "running" when.
Surf fishing is a popular past-time for visitors. You can catch most inshore fish right from Tiki House's beach, such as pompano, snapper, and redfish. For surf fishing, there are some things you need to know. You need to adhere to what and how much you can keep.
Check out the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for licensing and more:
Another option for fishing is Pier Fishing. The Pensacola Beach Fishing Pier is a great place to catch and a convenient place to do so for beginners or experts. The Pier provides rentals and sales of all you need. Equipment, bait, and temporary fishing licenses, are all available at a low cost.

If you didn't bring your own boat, check out a fishing charter for a real fishing adventure during your visit to Pensacola Beach and Tiki House. A vacation home rental allows you the freedom of cooking what you catch. But to insure you will have something for dinner besides a good story, choose a charter carefully and read their reviews. But if you are more about the journey than the fish caught, you can't go wrong on the Gulf. The beautiful turquoise water view is reward enough for many. Check out the fishing charter links below for information to help guide you to the perfect experience to fit your needs.
To enjoy Pensacola Beach and your visit to Tiki House Vacation Rental, you should partake in seafood in your favorite way. No matter how you find your fish and seafood, I think we can all appreciate the words of the Polish Proverb that says, " Fish, to taste good, must swim three times in water, in butter, and in wine."
