Welcome to our charming cabin retreat! Set in the wooded area of Sky Harbor (between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg), our cabin is away from the busy main strip, yet close enough to get to all the great attractions of the area.
Over the last year we have remodeled much of the cabin. Step inside our cozy abode, where a soapstone countertop and a live edge wood coffee bar, with seating for two, grace the kitchen. If you love whipping up your own culinary creations, our fully equipped kitchen awaits you. Brand new cabinets are thoughtfully stocked with all the dishes and kitchen gear you need for a delightful home-cooked meal. You can share your meals inside in the breakfast nook or enjoy the outdoors with a patio table on the deck or a picnic table next to the fire pit.
After a day of exploring the fantastic local activities, unwind in the living room by the electric fireplace. Stream your favorite shows using your own Roku account—both TVs are equipped with a Roku stick set to guest mode, ensuring a seamless and private viewing experience that automatically logs out on your checkout day.
Indulge in natures beauty on the cabins expansive porch, offering multiple seating spots for you to relax and breathe in the fresh air. Our hot tub is also located on the porch just off the main bedroom. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, including the occasional bear that might wander close to the cabin or cross the deck. Familiarize yourself with the National Park Service guidelines on bear encounters and adhere to food rules outside. In the fall, expect friendly ladybugs around.
For security, a Ring floodlight security camera watches over the front door. Please note that, while we provide initial rolls of toilet paper and paper towels, the cabin does not include any additional food or personal items.
As you ascend the mountain, brace for sharp turns and steep inclines but rest assured, upon reaching the cabin, a gentle slope leads to a mostly flat lot. Many of our dog owners have said how much they enjoyed having the flat area outside to play with their dogs. Speaking of dogs, our furry friends are welcome at our property with a $150 fee covering 2 dogs under 50lbs for up to a 5-night stay. Please inquire about additional dogs, larger breeds, or extended stays for details on additional pet fees.
In the winter especially, the roads can be difficult to drive on if there is snow or ice. There can also be power outages that take some time to restore during weather events in the mountains. We recommend all guests be prepared with food, flashlights, and blankets in case you get snowed in during your stay.
Please review our cancellation policy, and consider securing your travel plans with insurance for added peace of mind. Be sure to familiarize yourself with your insurance coverage terms to ensure it aligns with your needs.
We look forward to hosting you in our tranquil mountain cabin.
You will have access to everything except the craw space & 2 owner closets that are locked.
You can message us on the platform with questions. We generally will respond M-F 9AM-5PM fairly quickly. Response time outside of business hours may be slower. Remember if there is an emergency such as a fire, call 911 first. Thanks!
We are located in Sky Harbor. It is between Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg.
While the drive up the mountain has many sharp turns and inclines, when you arrive at this cabin you will find an easy gentle slope of the driveway up to a mostly flat lot with room to play outside. The mountain roads can be tricky to navigate, especially at night. Note that road work is happening in the area.
In the winter, make sure you are aware of weather conditions. Ice and snow make the roads hard if not impossible to drive on.
Check-in/Check-out
Check-in Time is 4pm. We will make every attempt to have your property ready for check-in at 4pm EST.
Check-out Time is 10am. In order to ensure the best cleaning experience for each guest, please make sure you have left the property by 10am on the day of check-out.
Food & Trash
Please do not leave food outside. The bears and other wildlife will find it and potentially break things while trying to get to it. For your use there is a bear proof metal cage on the side of the house for your waste. Be sure it is closed. Trash is removed by the cleaners after you checkout.
If you are staying for an extended time (more than 5 nights) and need to get rid of trash early we recommend taking it to one of the 11 county centers which can be found on the Sevier County Website.
A quick note about the refrigerator - if you put a lot of food in it right away it will be harder for it to cool going from empty to full. We started bringing a small cooler that we use to keep perishable things cold while slowly adding things to the refrigerator.
Fire Pit
Sky Harbor strongly recommends no open burning, however it is not completely banned by the association. While we do have a fire pit on site, we ask that you be extremely careful when using it. Please check local information to confirm that an open fire is permitted on the day you are planning to use the fire pit. We are located in a wooded area and fire safety is important to us and our neighbors. Local government officials will not permit open fires based on weather conditions, and other factors to help prevent accidental forest fires.
RULES:
1. You are responsible for providing seasoned dry logs ready for burning. We also recommend bringing your own fire safe gloves for handling logs and fire pit tools.
2. Do not under and circumstances leave your fire unattended.
3. Check that all fire safety items are available and you know their location (hose, fire extinguisher, gloves for logs, shovel for ash, poker, log grabber, and first aide kit). DO NOT USE THE FIRE PIT IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THESE ITEMS. We have provided a hose & fire extinguisher near the hot tub if needed. Also, we have a first aide kit under the kitchen sink.
4. There is a metal trash bin near the fire pit that you can use to remove ash from the fire-pit once it cools down. It is recommended you add a small amount of water to the trash bin after you add the ash.
5. While using the fire pit, do not add any material to the fire other than approved dry logs. Keep the fire at a responsible level so that it stays in the fire pit.
6. Best practice for putting out the fire when finished, is to stop adding logs prior to the time you wish to finish. This will slowly let the fire die down. Use a poker to break up the logs and ash to help make sure all the ambers are out. There is a hose by the hot tub that you can use to add a small amount of water to the fire pit to help put out the ambers.
7. Do not dump water on the fire when it is fully active (outside of an emergency). This will cause a great amount of smoke and could cause amber to jump out of the fire pit.
8. Avoid alcohol use while operating the fire pit
Avoid loose fitting clothes and keep hair tied back and out of the way of flames
9. BY USING THE FIRE PIT YOU ACCEPT LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE TO ANY PROPERTY CAUSED BY THE FIRE PIT.
