Cumberland Chalet, our 3-level provincial mountain home in Lake Arrowhead w/ seasonal stream. Centrally located but with a feeling of privacy. Stone fireplaces, tongue & groove ceilings, a perfect retreat after a long day of hiking or hitting the slopes of Snow Valley. Relax in the soaker tub and enjoy balcony views overlooking the trees. Our beautiful Lake Arrowhead hideaway is waiting for you! This tri-level, 2,000 sqft Gable Home is nestled in the woods with a provincial, rustic, and modern mix. Renovated for comfort and luxury while still leaving in place the original charm. Our home embodies the fresh, open, and warm feel of mountain living, nestled in a glen by a seasonal stream with native California Cedars, White Firs, Ponderosa Pines, and Black Oaks. Noise, parking, trash, smoking, snow, and pet rules are important to read and agree to before requesting a stay. Residents on the mountain are very strict about these rules. Outdoor noise is prohibited after 10pm and if windows are open please keep this in mind. Neighbors can call the compliance line and that prompts a Sheriff to come out to the property. Fines are steep. Lets make your stay great and not give neighbors any reason to complain, ask me anything about this Im happy to answer! We want your gathering to be amazing!
Cozy yet spacious, with plenty of room for the whole family with common spaces to enjoy together. Level entry parking right at the front door makes this a dream! The top of the driveway is a sharp turn, use caution and wear chains or have AWD when snowing.
Main Floor: Living room with tongue and groove ceilings that give that cozy cabin feel, stone fireplace (gas, no logs needed!), and rustic updated kitchen with all new appliances ready with all you need to cook. The master bedroom with a king-size bed, flat-screen tv, large walk-in closet, and deck access. The en-suite bathroom boasts a Soaker Tub, an enormous walk-in shower, and HEATED FLOORS for those cold temps!
Lower level: Family Den (with Queen sofa bed) ready for movie night and hot chocolate (or wine) with wet bar and retro fridge, stone fireplace, and entrance to lower level deck. Plus 4th bedroom, 3rd bathroom, and laundry.
Upper level: Gorgeous pitched tongue and groove ceilings, highlighting the gabled windows with amazing forest views, spacious bunk bedroom, a private balcony off the 2nd Queen bedroom, and the 2nd bathroom.

Getting around
Welcome to the mountains! Expect windy roads :) Chains are required by law to be in your car from November - April, there are checkpoints during the winter season. AWD is recommended. This property has a public plow so your road will be cleared, but if you arrive while it's snowing or have overnight snow you will need to shovel the driveway to get out, we keep a snow shovel by the recycling can near garage.
There are a few ways to come into Arrowhead from the 18 to get to the property. Coming through Kuffel Cyn is beautiful and quick but if it's snowing, stick to the 18 to the 173 (instead of 18 to Kuffel Cyn). Note the best pizza ever is at the corner of Kuffel Cyn and the 18. Lou and Eddies.... order early sometimes there is a 2-3 lead time!

NEIGHBORHOOD QUIET HOURS are 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Please keep in mind due to county regulations NO OPEN FIRES are permitted at any time because the high risk of fires.

-TRASH inside the cans in the Bear Box outside along the curve of the driveway. Trash pickup is Tuesday morning.
MOUNTAIN WEATHER & WINTER CONDITIONS PLEASE READ:
-Steep driveway at the top, use chains or have AWD to park. Do not park at the top when there's snow. You're parked car can slide and the plow can hit it if you're sticking out.
-All-wheel/4W drive is best when possible
Shoveling of snow may be required by GUESTS.
We plow prior to your arrival. Weather changes quickly and there can be more snow when you check-in that is beyond our control. If it snows during your stay YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for clearing the driveway to leave and for wearing your chains to park (or AWD).
Chains are required by law to be carried in your car Nov-April. In or after severe weather there are chain checkpoints on the mountain. - We do not extend refunds due to weather conditions, road closures, driver's abilities, or vehicle limitations.
CHANCES OF POWER OUTAGES:
To reduce the risk of wildfire during severe wind conditions, Southern California Edison reserves the right to temporarily cut electrical service to its customers, and we have no control over that. This is very unlikely to happen. Our guests understand that there will be no refunds for power outages and that there is nothing we can do to prevent this from happening.

Cancellation Policy
We will collect a security deposit that must be paid within 48 hours of booking and prior to check-in. Our goal is to ALWAYS return 100% of the security deposit upon check-out. We make this process as simple as possible for you :) We offer a full 100% refund up to 30 days before your arrival and 50% up to 7 days. Seasonal demand means we have to enforce cancellation policies, thanks for understanding!

We have a Bear Box for garbage. This is along our driveway and has 2 cans. Please no trash outside - Bears will come!

The tree swing is for children, 100lbs max, or it will break, thank you!
We have a propane grill and firepit. It is possible (but not likely) you could need to exchange the tank at the corner market.
When it snows:
Roads are plowed and well-maintained leading to the property. If it snows GUESTS may still need to shovel the driveway to pull out.
