Pirate Ship DinnerWhen you are walking along the Melgar, you can see a pirate ship on a mooring ball off shore. The pirate ship is an entertaining evening to say the least! The food (steak and lobster) is amazing, &quot;Jack Sparrow&quot; is hilarious and the show keeps your attention all night. I can&#x27;t say it is something for children, but adults have a great time playing games, being volunteered for contests, and dancing. On a clear night, the sunset is stunning as well. Unlimited adult beverages make some people more entertaining than others.

The Back Side of The IslandMany times tourist stay in the populated, &quot;touristy&quot; areas. That is great, however there is so much more to see in Cozumel. If you want to see beautiful, natural beaches, don&#x27;t just go to the beach clubs, head out for an adventure to the &quot;back side&quot; of the island. There are pristine beaches, wonderful scenery, beautiful coral cliffs and welcoming people to be found. There is no cell service and no electricity....what could be more perfect when you are trying to &quot;get away from it all&quot;? On the Melgar, head south. There you will pass numerous beach clubs. Once you pass Rasta&#x27;s, you will begin to see the beautiful open ocean. We have stopped at many of the wonderful places there are to eat. We have never been disappointed. Our newest find it Miami Bar. It is one of the first places you will see after you pass Rasta&#x27;s. The food is freshly made and delicious! They have fresh coconuts and they open them for you with their machete. Enjoy the fresh coconut water, or add an adult beverage made with fresh coconut water. Either way is delicious! They are also famous for their Mojitos. I have never had such a delicious Mojito! As you make your way south, there are plenty of places to stop, eat, drink and enjoy the view. At the very end is a place, Mezcalitos. They have a nice shady area with hammocks. It is a nice way to end your day! Make certain you have someone in your group as the designated driver. There is ZERO tolerance for drinking and driving. A Blood Alcohol level of .01 can get you arrested. You do not want to spend your vacay in a Cozumel jail!

The Bag DragSometimes airfares are weird! From DFW to Cozumel, airfare can be priced $600-$800 round trip, and there is only one non-stop per day. However, flights from DFW to Cancun are usually half the price and there are so many flight time options! Getting from Cancun to Cozumel is painless and can save you hundreds of dollars. Once you exit the terminal in Cancun, there will be a ticket booth for the ADO Bus. The buses leave about every 30 minutes. Purchase the tickets for Playa Del Carmen, head out to the bus terminal and find your bus. There are plenty of helpful people to guide you. The ADO buses are very nice! They are air-conditioned, have wireless internet, and the seats are quite comfy! The bus fare from Cancun to Playa is around $10 USD, depending on the exchange rate. The ride is about 1 hour and 15 minutes. The bus drops you off in the bus terminal at 5th and Juarez. You &quot;drag your bag&quot; through Playa to the Ferry Terminal. Buy your ticket with either WaterJets or Ultramar and hop on the ferry to make your way to Cozumel. Taxi&#x27;s are plentiful when you dock in Cozumel. It is just that easy!!

Take It All In.......When on vacation, we all love to be entertained and catered to!  It is our time away from responsibilities.  But sometimes

Take It All In.......When on vacation, we all love to be entertained and catered to! It is our time away from responsibilities. But sometimes it is good to sit back and really enjoy what is around you. If you are lucky enough to spend a few days in Cozumel, you can not miss the evenings around the fountains in the square. Families enjoying time together, children laughing and playing....enjoy a drink, ice cream or food from one of the local vendors and take in all that is the culture of Cozumel.

There you will present the immigration forms that were provided to you on the plane, along with your passport. You will walk past the K-9&#x27;s and let them sniff your carry-on luggage and then wait for your checked luggage at the carousel. Once you have your luggage, you can proceed to the scanner and put your luggage through. Once your luggage is cleared, there is a button to push, if your light is green, you are free to go, if not, they will hand inspect your luggage.When you exit the secured area, there will be LOTS OF PEOPLE trying to &quot;help&quot; you with transportation. They are all sales reps for different time shares and other various companies. Proceed out the doors and look for your pre-arranged transportation, or for your rental car company. There are taxies, but they are not allowed to come onto airport property. If you proceed out to the main street, you will be able to find a taxi. There are several rental car companies with-in walking distance of the airport as well. Remember, this is a very small airport. Walking to a taxi or a rental car company is EASY!
